I don’t remember the first kiss but I do recall wearing Mike’s clunky ID bracelet. You’re right, Christy. We never talked when we starting “going out” - even after the ID bracelet got clasped on my wrist. Yep. We really didn’t go anywhere . We did avoid each other in the hallways at school. I did have a conversation with his friend who told me Mike wanted to break up. And he wanted his bracelet back. Oh the awkward joys of middle school.

Mine was on the gravel driveway across the street. He was Harold Lambel, a year older than me, and it was slobbery. Not a great intro to kissing. Needless to say, I wiped it off and went off to play with my friends. I was ten. I don't remember if there were witnesses. That summer we moved from Indiana to Wisconsin and I never saw him again, thank heavens.

It was also at a park. But I was 15 😳 and with my first boyfriend, Nick. He really had a super crush on my sister but I guess I was ok? We dated for like three months and then he broke up with me in a note he passed to me in the hallway before lunch. I don’t remember why he broke it off but I’m sure he had to “work on himself” and it’s “not you it’s me” or some cliche.

Ah, passing notes. Now it would be text, I guess?

My second boyfriend broke up with me via text my senior year. It was one of the 200 texts I could send/receive.
